Actress Huma Qureshi has responded angrily to claims levelled against her by actress Payal Ghosh in her allegations against director Anurag Kashyap.
Qureshi put out a statement on social media suggesting that she was 'angry' at being 'dragged into this mess'.
Qureshi's statement came a day after her Gangs Of Wasseypur co-star Richa Chadha sent a legal notice to Ghosh for similarly dragging her into the controversy.
Writing on Twitter, Qureshi said, "Anurag and I last worked in 2012-3 and he is a dear friend and an extremely talented director. In my personal experience and to my knowledge he has neither misbehaved with me nor anyone else."
Both Qureshi and Chadha were part of Kashyap's two-part magnum opus Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012). Qureshi went on to say, "Anyone who claims to be abused must report it to the authorities, police and judiciary."
Ghosh, while accusing Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct, claimed that the director had asked her to "contact 'Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Mahie Gill" if she felt nervous doing his bidding.

Stating that she avoided making a statement because she dislikes 'social media trials', Qureshi wrote, "I feel really angry at being dragged into this mess. I feel angry not just for myself but also for every woman whose years of hard work and struggle gets reduced to such baseless conjecture and allegations at their workplace. Please refrain from this narrative."
While dismissing the allegations, Qureshi also said it was the ''responsibility'' of both men and women to ''protect the sanctity of the #MeToo movement''.
Kashyap has denied all charges, while Ghosh has submitted a complaint against the director.
