Actor Woody Harrelson has narrated a Netflix documentary titled Kiss The Ground on the importance of rejuvenating the earth's soil to prevent climate change.

Directed by critically acclaimed documentarians Joshua Tickell and Rebecca Harrell Tickell and executive produced by India-born RJ Jain, the documentary also features Patricia Arquette, Rosario Dawson, Ian Somerhalder and Gisele Bundchen.

The short trailer of Kiss The Ground unveils a game-changer in combating climate change: the earth’s own soil. Featuring the world’s leading scientists, experts and activists, it artfully highlights a relatively simple solution to humanity’s greatest challenge. With chemical solvents and fertilizers robbing the soil of its micro-organisms, environmentalists state that the carbon dioxide that is released by human activity escapes into the atmosphere, proving to be a key cause of global warming.

Speaking on the documentary, Joshua Tickell said, "The science in this film offers an unprecedented opportunity for countries like India to sequester carbon dioxide and stabilize greenhouse gasses while bolstering farming productivity."

Kiss The Ground distils almost 10 years and 300 hours of footage into 87 minutes, conveying complex concepts in an easily understandable way.

Explaining why he got on board with the project, Jain said, “Kiss The Ground shows how feasible it is to make these changes at a grassroots level immediately and make a truly substantive impact with low-cost and easy-to-implement solutions. This is why I got involved."

Kiss The Ground is being streamed on Netflix India from today.
