Cricketer Kevin Pietersen's journey into the heart of Kaziranga National Park in Assam will be aired on the National Geographic channel tomorrow.

The former England cricket star visited the famed rhinoceros heartland earlier this year as part of the SORAI (Save Our Rhino Africa and India) series, the first part of which was premiered on National Geographic on 23 April 2019 and saw Pietersen in Africa.

The trailer for the documentary, Save This Rhino India, exposes the malignancy of poaching in the country. Even as conservationists team up with forest guards to use technology to defend the critically endangered species, there is the emerging threat of environmental disasters. This, as the trailer puts it, makes it necessary to find a way for rhinos and humans to co-exist.

Speaking about the documentary, Pietersen said, "It’s my greatest gift back to India. To be able to show the world India’s beauty and how it is a global leader in the world of rhino conservation just makes me smile. I’ve benefited culturally, friendship wise, financially and emotionally through visiting India so many times, so this is my gift back to India."

The documentary will be aired on the National Geographic channel on 22 September.
