Filmmaker, producer and actor Mahesh Manjrekar will be seen in a Hindi short film titled Taxi No 24. Produced by Saviraj Shetty under his banner Whatever Productions, the film is directed by Saumitra Singh and written by Abhiraj Sharma.
Taxi No 24 also stars Jagjeet Sandhu, best known for his role in the Amazon Prime web-series Pataal Lok (2020), and Anangsha Biswas, who was seen recently in the web-series Hostages (Season 2), on Disney+ Hotstar.
The short film is a psychological thriller about an individual who boards a taxi driven by a man who is petrified that a serial killer is on the loose in the city of Mumbai.
Speaking about the film, Saumitra Singh told the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), “My simple motive to tell this story is to showcase how life can offer unwelcome surprises.”
Producer Shetty said, “I am super excited to have on board such a great cast which makes the journey and experience of filmmaking enriching. I can’t wait to get the project on the floor.”
Taxi No 24 also features Girish Sharma, Rajat Arora, Shalini Chauhan, Amisha Sinha, Ankita Sahu and Tushar Rungta. The makers have shared a minimalist poster of the film, which only features an old-fashioned numberless Ambassador taxicab.
