Marathi actress Shruti Marathe has flown to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to shoot for the Tamil remake of Kannada crime comedy Mayabazar (2016).
Speaking to The Times of India newspaper, Marathe revealed that shooting for the film has begun. "The film is a remake of the Kannada film Mayabazar," she said. "We have started the first schedule in Chennai. I am playing the wife of a cop. We started shooting on 13 September and my schedule will end on 20 September. We will begin shooting again in October.
"This is also my first film shoot after the lockdown and it feels great to be back on the set," she added. "As far as safety measures are concerned, we are taking utmost care, following distancing, wearing masks, etc."

The film marks Marathe's comeback in Tamil cinema after 10 years. Her last Tamil film was Guru Sishyan (2010). Marathe is also awaiting the release of her historical epic Sarsenapati Hambirrao (2020).
Mayabazar is a crime comedy based on demonetization. The yet-untitled remake stars actor Prasanna and is being directed by Badri.
