Khaali Peeli song ‘Tehas Nehas’: Ishaan Khatter, Ananya Panday display their chemistry in promotional number

The first song from Khaali Peeli (2020), received flak from the audience for not being up-to-the-mark and, more importantly, for allegedly having racist lyrics. The new song from the film called ‘Tehas Nehas’ isn’t problematic but, at the same time, it’s not impressive either. 

It’s a promotional song with the lead cast of Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday. Like the earlier song, this is also a dance number that may or may not be in the film. 

The location and props are ideal for such kind of tracks. As Khatter plays a taxi driver, it is logical to see him repair his vehicle. Both he and Panday have complimented each other well and have succeeded in matching steps with each other. 

Unfortunately, this is the only positive aspect about the song. There’s street-smartness in Kumaar’s lyrics but they are not catchy or impressive enough to have much effect. Surprisingly, Vishal-Shekhar’s music is stagnant and without variety. There is nothing much that Shekhar Ravjiani and Prakriti Kakar’s singing could do to salvage the negatives. 

Khaali Peeli is directed by Maqbool Khan and jointly produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar, and Zee Studios.
