A special court in Mumbai has rejected the bail plea of Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others arrested in the drug case by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in relation to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The news agency Asian News International (ANI) shared the news on Twitter saying, “Bail pleas of Showik Chakraborty, Rhea Chakraborty, Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda have been rejected by a special court in Mumbai.”

Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde will be approaching the Bombay high court to appeal for a bail for his client. “Once we get the order copy. We will decide next week on the course of action on approaching the high court,” he told ANI.

The bail plea of all the accused was rejected by a lower court on Wednesday 9 September. Maneshinde approached the special court yesterday. The court reserved its order for today.

Rhea, the girlfriend of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was arrested on 8 September after three days of questioning by the NCB in connection to the case. She was then given 14-day judicial custody which ends on 22 September.

Rajput died of suicide on 14 June. He was found hanging in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai.
