The Bombay high court today adjourned the hearing of actress Kangana Ranaut's challenge to the Mumbai municipal corporation's move to demolish the alleged illegal extensions at her Pali Hill office till 22 September.

Appearing for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), counsel Joel Carlos told the court that the BMC had stopped all demolition work at the site and urged it to order Ranaut to maintain status quo, the legal website barandbench.com reported.

Meanwhile, Ranaut reached her office in Bandra, Mumbai, where the BMC had demolished some structures in the morning yesterday.

In the afternoon, the high court had put a stop to the demolition of the allegedly illegal alterations in Ranaut's bungalow and asked the corporation to submit its reply by 3pm today.

The Maharashtra government and the 33-year-old actress have been engaged in a war of words after Ranaut's 'Mumbai has become PoK' (Pakistan-ocupied Kashmir) remark.
