Actor Abhishek Bachchan has returned to the sets of the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar film The Big Bull (2020) after a six-month break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s producer Anand Pandit welcomed the actor back on the sets of the crime saga.
The thriller had a few days of shooting to complete when the nationwide lockdown was imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Things were further delayed when in July, the actor, along with his family, tested positive. Bachchan spent nearly a month in Nanavati hospital before recovering.
“The aim is to finish the film's patchwork by mid-October,” the producer revealed.
“Abhishek is a good-natured trooper and is going out of his way to accommodate us despite having battled COVID-19. He is thankfully totally healthy now and as enthusiastic as ever. It is a blessing to have him as our lead star,” he added.
“We would rather err on the side of caution, and so we are COVID proofing every inch of our sets. We have a team of COVID-19 watchdogs supervising everything and there is always at least one expert available to us at any given time,” Pandit said.
The producer said these temporary setbacks have not deterred the cast and crew of the film directed by Kookie Gulati.
“This has been a rewarding journey despite the occasional delays and with Abhishek back on sets, we are all even more energised and motivated than before,” he said.
