The cast of Hungama 2, including Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jaaferi and Pranitha Subhash, took a chartered flight to Manali on Monday to resume shooting for the project.
The film, a sequel to the 2003 film of the same name, will be directed by Priyadarshan.
The schedule of the film had been put on hold following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns. The film will feature Jaaferi, who made his debut in Malaal (2019), in the lead role.
Shetty shared an image of the cast and producer Ratan Jain in masks preparing to board their flight. Hungama 2 will mark the return of Shetty to the big screen following a long hiatus. The actress also has Nikamma, alongside Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia lined up for the coming year.
Hungama 2 went on the floors in December 2019, with the production house releasing the first poster for the film in March earlier this year. Back in July, Priyadarshan had expressed the desire to begin shooting again quickly so as to avoid the problem of his ýoungest actors growing older. The film is likely to be released next year.
