Anurag Basu’s upcoming Diwali release Ludo features several different characters whose stories intersect. One plotline involves characters played by Abhishek Bachchan and child artiste Inayat Verma, who share an endearing and hilarious onscreen bond.
The director revealed that Bachchan treated Verma like his own daughter and made sure she was comfortable on the set. The chemistry between the cast helped to raise spirits on the set, as did the pranks little Inayat played on the crew. “Abhishek and Inayat bonded from the first day of the shoot. Abhishek is an incredible human being who loves children. He always saw to Inayat’s comfort,” said Basu.
“Inayat is also a very warm and friendly child, along with being an incredibly talented actress. I was surprised to see them bonding so well and that helped me capture all the beautiful moments between them,” he said.
Ludo also features Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rohit Saraf, Pearle Maaney, Pankaj Tripathi, Asha Negi and Shalini Vats. The film is due to be released on Netflix on 12 November.
