Shooting for Allu Arjun’s upcoming Telugu action-drama Pushpa will begin on 5 November in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, reliable sources have revealed. The film, which will be directed by Sukumar, sees Arjun play a sandalwood brigand
“The team is finally gearing up for the shoot. The first schedule will begin on a specially erected set in Visakhapatnam,” a source told the Hindustan Times newspaper.
Arjun, who was recently spotted with curly hair, will be seen in a completely new avatar in the film.
Pushpa’s first look poster was unveiled on Arjun’s birthday on 8 April. While the makers are yet to reveal the complete cast and crew, it has been confirmed that Rashmika Mandanna will play the leading lady while Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the antagonist.
This film, a pan-Indian project that will be released in five languages, marks the third collaboration between Arjun and Sukumar.
Arjun was last seen on screen in Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020), the actor's third collaboration with filmmaker Trivikram. The film tells the tale of Bantu (Arjun) and his efforts to please his cold-hearted father Valmiki (Murali Sharma) and how he reunites with his real parents after 25 years.
The film, which grossed over Rs200 crore at the box office, also features Pooja Hegde and Nivetha Pethuraj while Tabu was seen in a pivotal role. This appearance marked the latter’s return to Telugu filmdom after two decades.
