The Bombay high court on Tuesday passed an injunction against actress Luviena Lodh, restraining her from circulating alleged defamatory videos against directors Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt on social media. The court also took down a statement of the actress agreeing not to make any statement against the Bhatt brothers in the media till the pendency of their interim relief application.

According to the legal website, BarandBench.com, the Bhatt brothers had filed the application via the law firm Naik Naik & Co, seeking interim protection on the grounds that Lodh would be given a platform by news channels to circulate defamatory material against them. This, they suggested, would damage their reputation.

Lodh, who is involved in a marital dispute with her husband, Sumit Sabharwal, shared a 48-second video last week accusing Mahesh of harassing her. The actress alleged that Sabharwal was his nephew, and therefore, the director was threatening her.

The Bhatts have also filed a defamation suit seeking damages to the amount of Rs1 crore each from Lodh for circulating a 'defamatory video' against them. BarandBench.com stated that the Bhatts claimed that the videos were publicly circulated and widely commented upon. They had asked the actress to take down the video and tender an unconditional apology. With Lodh unwilling to do so, the Bhatts approached the court to seek relief.

The Bombay high court has given Lodh a period of three weeks to respond to the application.
