Rajkummar Rao, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani roped in for Hindi dub of The Boys

Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, The Boys is a dark comedy superhero series based on the comic book of the same name.

Amazon Prime Video's original series The Boys has been garnering praise for its unique approach to the superhero genre. The dark comedy fantasy series is now being dubbed into Hindi.

Rajkummar Rao, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani have been in roped in to voice the Hindi dub, the trailer of which was released by Amazon Prime India on Sunday. Going by the comment section, fans of the show are not quite satisfied with the quality of the dubbing.

Rao will be voicing the sinister superhero Homelander, played by Antony Starr, who possesses Superman-like powers.

Speaking about the opportunity to be a part of The Boys, Rao said in a statement to the Bollywood Hungama website, "The Boys is one of my favourite series on Amazon Prime Video. It is fascinating to watch Antony Starr as Homelander, an infuriatingly complex character that everyone loves to hate. Voicing for Homelander has been extremely exciting and I hope that the audiences like what I have done. It's been a great experience."

Lending her voice to the sweet yet powerful Starlight, played by Erin Moriarty, Disha Patani said, “Starlight is probably one of the most humane and grounded amongst the Vought army. You can’t help but feel for her. Having said that, she’s not to be trifled with and terrifying when provoked."

Arjun Kapoor will be voicing Billy Butcher, played brilliantly by Karl Urban.

The series will also be dubbed into Tamil and Telugu. These versions are set to be released on Amazon Prime Video on 28 October. The second season of the show was premiered on Amazon Prime Video with the first three episodes having released on 4 September.

Based on the comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed by showrunner Eric Kripke, who also serves as writer and executive producer.
