Sai Tamhankar, who is known for her excellent acting chops, has now turned entrepreneur. The actress has launched her own clothing label called The Saree Story in collaboration with her college friend Shruti Bhosale Chavan.

Sharing the news with her fans on Instagram, an elated Tamhankar wrote, "On this auspicious day I’m elated to announce our label ‘The Saree Story’ along with my college bestie Shruti Bhosale! Thrilled, excited, nervous and delighted to be venturing into new waters. Let your blessings and love be with us. Happy दसरा (Dussehra) to you all."

Tamhankar said that the designs, cloth and every minuscule element that culminates in the process of making a saree are unique and exclusive in her store.  Like there is a story to every film, every saree of ours has a story,” she added.

Speaking about the salience of their brand, Chavan said that they have made an attempt to take into consideration the manner in which the new generation wears the garment. "There are 30-odd types of sarees in our country, and every state has its unique styling and heritage. Therefore, we thought of naming our brand The Saree Story,” she said.

On the work front, Tamhankar will be seen Sachin Kundalkar's Pondicherry and Mohit Takalkar's Medium Spicy. The post-production of both films is complete. The actress will also feature in the Kriti Sanon-starter Mimi.
