Bhavai, film featuring Scam 1992 actors Pratik Gandhi and Hemant Kher, ready to be released

Kher, who essayed the role of Harshad Mehta's brother in the acclaimed series, took on the task of coaching the film's cast and will not be seen onscreen.

The chemistry between Pratik Gandhi and Hemant Kher's characters, Harshad and Ashwin Mehta, is among the high points of the recently released Hindi web-series Scam 1992. The Hindi film Bhavai, for which the two actors had joined hands, is set to be released. Kher, however, played the behind-the-scenes role of the cast's acting coach and will not be seen onscreen.

Gandhi shared the news with Cinestaan.com in an interview. “My Hindi film Bhavai is ready to be released. He [Kher] was the acting coach in it, just like he was in Mitron (2018),” said the actor.

Gandhi and Kher became close friends after working together. “I am from Surat and he is from Kosamba, which is near Surat. He had become a very good friend before the shoot. We kept chatting about Surat. On the sets [of Scam 1992] it was all the more enjoyable. Maybe because of that our chemistry and bonding are visible [in the web-series],” added Gandhi.

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, Bhavai sees Aindrita Ray starring opposite Gandhi. The film is about questioning age-old religious beliefs.

As expected, Gandhi has been receiving offers in the wake his stunning performance in Scam 1992, which tells the story of the real-life share broker Harshad Mehta’s rise and fall. “I received a few good offers. Right now I am listening to various scripts. I will soon do a good project,” he said.
