Naxalbari teaser: Rajeev Khandelwal prepares for a war to end all wars

Zee5's upcoming series Naxalbari, featuring Rajeev Khandelwal, Satyadeep Mishra, Tina Datta and Sreejita De, looks at the menace of leftist extremism from an action-thriller point of view.

The teaser for the series, which has been directed by Partho Mitra, emphasizes the conflicting ideas held by Maoist guerillas and law enforcers. It appears that Khandelwal will play an officer tasked with infiltrating and getting to the roots of a Maoist insurgency in a forested region.

Khandelwal's voiceover intones, "They say that our world stands on the foundations of injustice and inequality. But how right is it to take arms in the name of justice?" In order to counter this, Khandelwal takes up arms on the side of the law leading to the eventual conflict. 

With action-packed visuals, impressive production values and an impressive team of actors such as Mishra, the series appears promising.

Naxalbari will stream on Zee5 from 28 November onwards.
