Actress Deepti Naval has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing angioplasty in Mohali, Chandigarh, on Monday.
The veteran actress has assured her fans that she is doing fine.
There were some reports claiming that Naval suffered a heart attack. However, she rubbished these claims, telling the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), “It was a heart symptom. That’s true [angioplasty] and I’m perfectly fine now.”
Angioplasty is carried out to open clogged arteries in the heart.
Naval was seen this year in the Hindi web-series Pawan & Pooja where she played the character of Pooja Kalra while director-actor Mahesh Manjrekar played her husband Pawan Kalra. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the series featured Gul Panag, Sharman Joshi and Natasha Bharadwaj.
Her last film was Garth Davis’s Hollywood movie Lion (2017), which starred Dev Patel, Priyanka Bose and Sunny Pawar.
Naval is renowned as one of the faces of the Hindi film industry's parallel cinema movement with Junoon (1979), Ek Baar Phir (1979), Chashme Buddoor (1981) and Angoor (1982).
