Adil Hussain wins Best Actor Award at IndoGerman Filmweek

The eighth edition of the IndoGerman Filmweek concluded on 30 September in Babylon, Berlin.

Actor Adil Hussain has won the Best Actor Award at the IndoGerman Filmweek where two of his films, Prakash Jha’s Pareeksha (2020) and Vijay Jayapal’s Nirvana Inn (2019), were screened.

Taking to Twitter, the actor shared the news with his fans.

Hussain won the award for his role in Pareeksha, where he plays a rickshaw-puller, Buchchi Paswan, who ferries rich children to and from a fancy private school. As he makes the trips every day, Paswan dreams of his son studying in the school one day.

The actor had also shared his excitement after the series Delhi Crime, in which he stars alongside Shefali Shah and Rasika Dugal, was nominated for the International Emmy Awards.

More than 20 films were screened at the eighth edition of the IndoGerman Filmweek, which was held in Babylon, Berlin, in a physical format from 24–30 September. The event was themed on women and men in transition and upheaval.
