Marathi filmmaker Gajendra Ahire is known for completing his films in a jiffy. He has done it again with his upcoming movie Sajinde [which roughly translates to ‘companion’ or ‘disciple.’] The entire film was shot and completed during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Ahire shared the poster of the film on Facebook on Thursday and wrote about his experience of shooting for the project in the form of a Marathi poem, a translation of which reads, “The film industries across the world had come to a standstill. On 6 June, I could see a ray of hope in a closed place. One producer stood up for me. He got 21 other sajindes. They set the wheels rolling. Few more people joined us. Today the film is complete. I am glad I was one of the sajindas. Coming soon.”

The poster of Sajinde features a dreary view from the rear of a man who appears to be standing in a desolate waste. Interestingly, the image is seen from the lens of a camera.

Ahire has composed the music for the film, as was the case with his previous projects Anumati (2013) and Kulkarni Chaukatla Deshpande (2019).

Sajinde was produced by Payal Pathare and Meghmala Pathare.
