From the common man to celebrities, no one has been able to escape the wiles of social media trolls and bullies. The trailer of the web-series Cancelled, by Boundless Media, sheds light on the now-infamous practice of boycotting and group shaming a person on social media and its effect on one's mental health.
The series centres on three children played by Chinmay Chandranshuh, Guneet Wahan and Ritik Ghansani, who start an online group. Initially, they receive positive feedback from their followers but their happiness is short-lived because they start receiving threat calls and things escalate beyond their control when they get rape threats in their comments section. Soon their online life starts to encroach on their offline life.
The trailer promises a realistic approach to the topic of cyberbullying and its effect on mental health. The series was conceptualized, written, and directed by the Boundless Media team.
The web series will be available on YouTube starting 22 October.
