Filmmaker Vikas Bahl is making his digital debut with the Zee5 web-series Sunflower. Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Good Co, the crime comedy set in a housing society will be directed by Rahul Sengupta.

The director of Queen (2014) and Super 30 (2019) stated in an online report on BoxOfficeWorldwide.com, “This is my first project as a digital creator and it is fantastic to start off with Zee5 on Sunflower, a project which has been exciting from the moment we conceptualized it to the point we finalized the script. Joining me is director Rahul Sengupta, a veteran ad filmmaker with five Cannes Lions to his name, who will be helming the direction. We think Sunflower is quirky, fun and thrilling, all at the same time."

“The characters of the housing society will be the real stars of the series," Bahl continued. "Their dismissive style will give a definite impression that we are all being conned and at the same time their quirkiness and reality will make this series more relatable, even though the backdrop is set around a murder that has occurred in their housing society. The casting will be both, the most challenging as well as the most exciting part, and we are hoping to start shooting very soon."

Sunflower is due to be released on Zee5 in April 2021.
