Indica Pictures, which is known for promoting Indian culture through visual art forms such as dance and cinema, has signed a three-short-film deal with Indian classical dancer Rukmini Vijayakumar.

All three projects will be dance films themed on Indian culture and heritage such as Ayurveda, classical arts and knowledge, and spirituality. The first short based on the theme of Ayurveda will be launched on National Ayurveda Day, the second short film exploring the theme of classical arts and knowledge will be released on Basant Panchami and the third short film on spirituality will be launched on Shankara Jayanti.

Talking about collaborating with Indica, Rukmini said, “As an artiste, it is important to find support and avenues for expression. I’m so fortunate that Indica has trusted me with these films. It has been a wonderful organization to work with in the past and I look forward to bringing the subjects forward through the mediums that I know best."

Commenting on the development, Danji Thotapalli, chief curator at Indica Pictures, said, “As a part of our mandate, we commission documentaries and short films from time to time. Indica earlier worked with Rukmini and produced two videos celebrating Yoga. Both these videos have received more than a million views each and have resonated with audiences around the world. We eagerly look forward to her new films and through them celebrate our rich cultural heritage."
