Baaghi 3, Sadak 2 and Lootcase are also set to have their television premieres on Star Gold starting from 18 October.
While the third film in the Baaghi franchise was originally released in theatres on 6 March, it had to be later pulled down as cinemas were ordered to down shutters in several states with coronavirus restrictions being put in place by mid-March. The Kunal Kemmu-starrer Lootcase and Sadak 2, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt, premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
The comedy Lootcase, directed by Rajesh Krishnan, will be premiered on television on 18 October. The film features an ensemble cast of Rasika Dugal, Ranvir Shorey, Vijay Raaz and Gajraj Rao.
Baaghi 3, starring action star Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor, will be premiered on 1 November, while Sadak 2’s television premiere date is yet to be announced.
A spokesperson for the channel stated they hoped these films would “add some sparkle this festive season and bring families together for some quality time”. The television premiere also gives those who haven’t subscribed to OTT platforms a chance to finally catch the film at home.
Shroff said, “My character Ronnie is very close to my heart and I’d like to keep playing him till I can. Unfortunately, due to Covid, our run in the theatres had to come to an end sooner than we expected but I hope those who didn't get a chance to watch the film in theatres can watch it on TV now. I am glad that Star Gold will be showcasing the movie for everyone to enjoy.”
