The online edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival has released its line-up of short films that will be screened virtually at the festival. Although the festival will be largely restricted to viewers from India and South Asia (due to restraints imposed by distributors and sales agents), about 30 films that include features and shorts will be available to audiences worldwide.
The festival released an initial list of eight short films that will be available to viewers worldwide. Atanu Mukherjee’s Wig, Ashmita Guha Neogi’s Catdog, Rohan Shivkumar’s Lovely Villa - Architecture as Autobiography and Upamanyu Bhattacharyya and Kalp Sanghvi’s Wade are the Indian films in this line-up.
Besides these, Yarlung by Kunsang Kyirong (Canada), Bare Trees in the Mist by Rajan Kathet (Nepal), Yarne by Andrew Kraokower (USA) and All that Perishes at the Edge of Land by Hira Nabi (Pakistan) are the other films available.
The festival requires viewers to purchase a pass to watch the films while a separate pass is being issued for viewers outside South Asia who would like to access these movies.
DIFF will be held from 29 October to 4 November.
