The song 'Mon Phur Phur' from Soukarya Ghosal’s upcoming film Rawkto Rawhoshyo is a feel-good number that underscores the blooming romance between protagonist Swarnaja (Koel Mallick) and her love interest, played by Chandan Roy Sanyal. Composed by Nabarun Bose, the song has been written by the director himself and sung by Prashmita Paul.
The lyrics accurately expresses the essence of a burgeoning romance, when the heart marches to its own beat, disregarding reason and searching for shared bliss and special companionship.
In the video, Swarnaja and Sanyal's character can be seen transcending the bonds of friendship. While the uncertainty surrounding their relationship lends instils a sense of adventure, Swarnaja cannot help but attempt to ensure their compatibility by reading books on love signs and astrology and even dabbling in palmistry.
The friendship comes with the promise of new beginnings as Swarnaja begins to take care of herself and concentrates on beautifying her surroundings. At the end of the song, it dawns upon Swarnaja that she and her friend are falling in love, but neither of them can muster the courage to express their feelings. It is also evident that she is quite conventional regarding the unfolding of a new romantic relationship, as she considers expressing her love for Sanyal's character potentially embarrassing.
While the trailer of the film and the song 'Amar Ektarata' focus on Swarnaja’s struggles as a single mother, 'Mon Phur Phur' comes as a fresh breath of air, highlighting Rawkto Rawhoshyo's lighter side.
Rawkto Rawhoshyo will be released on 21 October.
