In the upcoming Netflix series Mismatched, YouTuber Prajakta Koli stars as the determined Dimple, who can’t see beyond her professional goals in life.
She is paired together with Rohit Saraf’s Rishi to make an amazing app that leads to an internship opportunity. Will the two grow closer or will the experience just take them further apart? Mismatched, which is co-directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari, follows the amusing educational and romantic entanglements of students of one of India’s oldest colleges.
The cast also features Vihaan Samat, Taaruk Raina, Devyani Shorey, and Muskaan Jaferi. Actor Rannvijay Singha plays a college professor, while Vidya Malvade plays a student, Zeenat, who joins the college in her 40s.
The series, which has been inspired by Indian-American author Sandhya Menon’s book When Dimple Met Rishi, shifts from California to India, placing our protagonists in the highly competitive world of the IT crowd. Dimple faces pressure from her parents to settle down and marry instead of pursuing her dreams.
Mismatched is due to be released on Netflix on 20 November.
