Actress Taapsee Pannu is ready to return to the starting line as shooting for her upcoming sports drama Rashmi Rocket (2021) has resumed. The actress plays a runner from Kutch, Gujarat, in the film directed by Akarsh Khurana.

The production was halted in March in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown. The film, written by Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha and Kanika Dhillon, also stars actor Priyanshu Painyuli as the lead character's husband.

According to a press release by the makers, “Rashmi's indestructible spirit is reflected on how she jumps all the hurdles that come across the way and is not just a race but a fight for respect, honour and her very own identity [sic]”.

The first day of shooting on Tuesday showed a professional racetrack from where Rashmi, who earns the nickname Rocket in her village in Gujarat, presumably goes on to hit the big time.

अभी आँख में खटक रही हूँ तो क्या.... कभी तो दिल में धड़कूँगी 💁🏻‍♀️ One line that sums up Rani Kashyap! And it’s a wrap on #HaseenDilruba ! Finally, after shooting during the coldest days in Haridwar to sultry hot days in Mumbai this film has probably experienced all seasons and human emotions possible under the sun (including the Pandemic ) Here’s to getting ‘pulp fiction’ back on screen with the character you either love to hate or hate to love coz basic toh hum vaise bhi kuch karte nahi hai na 😁 P.S - don’t know why we r so happy in this picture must be coz of @polyvynil , the only person on set who has better sense of humour than Rani Kashyap and the other one is the only one who loved this self obsessed borderline narcissist character more than she ever could @vikrantmassey87 #FilmWrap #HaseenDilruba #EndOfAnotherChapter

Pannu recently wrapped up the shoot of another film, Haseen Dilruba (2021), with Vikrant Massey. The murder mystery, directed by Vinil Mathew and written by Kanika Dhillon, was originally due to be released on 18 September. Haseen Dilruba was shot in Mumbai and filming wrapped up in Haridwar, Uttarakhand last week.

The actress jetted off for a quick holiday in Dubai before resuming shooting for Rashmi Rocket. It is yet to be confirmed whether the film is also being shot there.

Rashmi Rocket, produced by Ronnie Screwvala, along with Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya, is due to be released in 2021.
