Bhoot Police poster: Film introduces the paranormal as the 'new normal'

The horror-comedy, featuring Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jaaved Jaaferi, is being directed by Pawan Kripalani.

Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal the first poster of her husband Saif Ali Khan's upcoming film, Bhoot Police. Directed by Pawan Kripalani, the film is a horror-comedy.

The actress captioned the post, "The New Normal is Paranormal".

The poster depicts a haunted house with a van nearby. The lettering on the van reads 'Vashikaran specialist (Ghost hunters)'. The film will see Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and the others play ghost hunters. The project calls to mind the Hollywood cult hit, Ghostbusters (1984). The poster also has an interesting play on the current 'Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-dependent India)' campaign, with its hashtag 'Atmanirbhay Bharat (Unafraid India)'.

Announced in 2019, the film initially had Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal in key roles. However, they were later replaced by Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez. Left in limbo by the lockdown, the film went on the floors earlier this week

The cast is currently shooting for the film in Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh. Kripalani had previously directed Ragini MMS (2011) and Phobia (2016)
