On 8 October, Khan was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru after experiencing three seizures. His family then created an online fundraiser on crowdfunding platform Impact Guru to generate Rs25 lakh for his treatment. In two days, they managed to raise over Rs12 lakh from more than 600 donors. After Bhatt had urged netizens on Twitter to help the family foot the actor’s medical bills, actor Salman Khan on 15 October played Good Samaritan, personally clearing all the actor's dues.
The actor is the son of the late actor Yusuf Khan. Following in his father's footsteps, he entered the Hindi film industry with Fareb (1996). He was later paired opposite Rani Mukerji in Mehandi (1998). After acting in a few more films, such as Dulhan Banoo Main Teri (1999) and Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya (2001), Khan made a transition to the small screen.
