Vijay Raaz arrested for allegedly molesting female crew member

Actor Vijay Raaz has been arrested by the Gondia police in Maharashtra for allegedly molesting a female crew member during the shooting of his upcoming film.

The news was shared by the Asian News International (ANI) agency. “Actor Vijay Raaz was arrested from Gondia yesterday allegedly for molesting a woman crew member. A case has been registered: Atul Kulkarni, Additional SP, Gondia,” ANI said in a tweet some time back.

A report on the website of the daily Mid-Day said the alleged incident happened on the sets of Sherni, which stars Vidya Balan and is directed by Amit Masurkar, known for the critically acclaimed Newton (2017) starring Rajkummar Rao.

Sherni had gone on the floor in mid-March but then, like all other projects, had to halt its shoot because of the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shooting for the film was resumed last month.
