Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon will begin shooting for Farhad Samji's Bachchan Pandey in January 2021.
The film was announced in July 2019 but has mostly been in limbo since, more so after the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown earlier this year.
Akshay Kumar has now finished shooting for Bell Bottom. The actor also has the epic Prithviraj and Atrangi Re, co-starring Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan, lined up.
Bachchan Pandey is set to go on the floor in January 2021, with a shooting schedule that extends till March. The film will mark the tenth collaboration between producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar.
Reports suggest the shoot will take place in Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, with the team stationed at the Suryagarh palace. A report in the tabloid newspaper Mid-Day quoted a source as saying that the team will undergo COVID-19 tests before the end of the year as they prepare to leave for Rajasthan.
The production house is also planning to make it a no-contact set, with two doctors set to fly along with the cast and crew from Mumbai to Jaisalmer.
The film, to be directed by Samji, will feature Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in the lead. Another actress has to be cast in the project, but no names have been decided so far.
The film will feature Akshay Kumar in a new look, with the prosthetic additions that were present in the poster released in January this year.
