The song 'Heelein Toot Gayi' from the Kiara Advani-starrer Indoo Ki Jawani capitalises on the leading lady's current popularity. The song, composed by Badshah and sung by Aastha Gill, oozes style and sass.
'Heelein Toot Gayi' is refreshing in that it seems to be a single girl anthem. In the video, Advani's Indoo is portrayed as a glamorous diva with all the vanities and pretensions of the small-town girl who dreams of the good life, even as she is wooed by Guru Randhawa and Aditya Seal. The video also marks the maiden collaboration between Randhawa and Badshah, and the first time the former is featured in a film song.
Gill's voice, aided by technology, adds to pizzazz to the composition. Badshah's lyrics match the tone of the song, which bears his signature. For a change, there is no section that serves solely to highlight the rapper's skills. Instead, his stylings are underlined by the beat. While it is typical in terms of rhythm and style, the song has a fun vibe and is heightened by Advani's glowing presence.
The visuals of the song feature the usual bling and hyper-real neon lighting that is seen in most club songs. Randhawa and Seal bring a male presence to the song, though their inclusion doesn't amount to more than a novelty element.
Indoo Ki Jawaani is directed by Abir Sengupta and is scheduled to be released in theatres on 11 December.
