The show is expected to go on the floors in 2021. The actor enjoyed a successful OTT debut with the popular Netflix film Extraction earlier this year. The actor was cast opposite Chris Hemsworth in the film.
Reports suggest that Hooda had signed on for Inspector Avinash before Extraction, but due to contractual stipulations, the makers refrained from making any announcement on the project. The project will be Jio Studios' second OTT production.
The actor has already completed the shoot for Unfair N Lovely, alongside Ileana D'Cruz. The film was directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua and is scheduled to be released in 2021.
