Tisca Chopra turns director with the short film Rubaru; See trailer

Actress Tisca Chopra is all set to showcase her directorial skills in a short film titled Rubaru. The actress will star in the film, which is being presented by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films, along with Arjun Mathur and Chitrashi Rawat. 

Chopra plays a film actor named Radha Malhotra. The poster of the film depicts the character with a mask, alluding to the nature of the acting profession. 

The trailer of Rubaru, which was recently released, reveals that the film is about an actress who is quickly fading into obscurity. Once the darling of the masses, she is being eclipsed by other actresses. 

The latter part of the trailer sees Malhotra trying her hand at the stage in order to redeem herself. However, it seems that all her confidence has drained away. 

The story of a veteran actress and her loss of stardom brings to mind the plot of the recently released Marathi movie Aani… Dr Kashinath Ghanekar (2018).

Rubaru be will be released on Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films’ YouTube channel on 28 November.
