‘Kun Faya Kun’, as we know, is a soothing, spiritual song from the Hindi film Rockstar (2011). Director Kushan Nandy’s upcoming film, apart from the title, has little in common with the AR Rahman composition. Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sanjeeda Sheikh, the thriller was announced earlier this month via a thrilling introduction video.
Speaking about the film, which went on the floors recently, Sheikh said, “Kun Faya Kun is like a rollercoaster ride, being both scary and exciting at the same time. This is my second film with Harshvardhan [after Taish, 2020] but working with him feels fresh and new as his character is different and will also surprise the audience.”
Kun Faya Kun marks Nandy's return to the director's chair after Babumoshai Bandookbaaz (2017). “Kushan sir is lovely and the cutest director. The way he explains scenes to his actors is beautiful. I am truly loving the journey of Kun Faya Kun,” said Sheikh.
Describing the film, Nandy said, “Kun Faya Kun is high on action and intense in emotions, and both Harshvardhan Rane and Sanjeeda Sheikh are battling challenging weather conditions in the mountains to put together a stellar act [sic].”
Rane the film presented him with a great opportunity to showcase a shade that was not seen in his last three films.
Kun Faya Kun has been written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali, whose last project was also Babumoshai Bandookbaaz.
