On the anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks, Amazon Prime has unveiled the first look of Mumbai Diaries 26/11, which is based on the spine-chilling incident.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves, the series features an ensemble cast comprising Shreya Dhanwantary, Konkona Sensharma, Mohit Raina and Tina Desai.

The clip features a glimpse into the chaos that broke out in the city on the day of the attacks. From doctors and nurses trying to cope with the situation, to citizens trying to escape, the picture is one of shock and confusion. However, unlike several other takes on the incident, this series focusses on the medical practitioners who were torn between fear for their safety and their oath to save their patients' lives.

In a press note, Advani said, "We Mumbaikars often discuss where we were on that fateful night when this devastating incident shook the entire city. There have been several shows and films centred on the incident, but no one has explored the doctors' side of it. With this medical drama, we aim to champion the human spirit in the face of unprecedented danger and celebrate the brave doctors who saved the day while keeping the sensitivity of the topic in mind [sic]."

The 26/11 terror attacks took place in Mumbai in 2008, leading to the loss of 174 lives. It remains one of the most openly co-ordinated attacks on Indian soil. The series will be the latest to capture the events on screen after Hotel Mumbai (2019), The Attacks of 26/11 (2013) and the Zee5 series State of Siege 26/11.

The series, helmed by Emmay Entertainment, and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, will be streamed on Amazon Prime's from March next year.

Check out the first look and let us know if you are keen on watching the web-series.
