Nushrratt Bharuccha bags Omung Kumar B’s Janhit Mein Jaari

Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Chhalaang (2020) was released online on the Diwali weekend. The actress has now bagged director Omung Kumar B’s Janhit Mein Jaari. As per the makers, the film will be a quirky comedy with a message. It will go on the floor in March 2021.

Janhit Mein Jaari will see Bharuccha cast opposite Pavail Gulati, best known for his role as Taapsee Pannu’s husband in Anubhav Sinha's Thappad (2020).

News about the film and its poster were shared by boxing champion Mary Kom whose biopic, also titled Mary Kom (2014), was directed by Omung Kumar.

The boxer captioned the post, “Ek womaniya sab pe bhaari... ye soochna hai Janhit Mein Jaari! [One woman can take on everyone. This message is issued in the public interest.] I’m looking forward to this film, it’s such an interesting concept.” 

Raaj Shaandilyaa is the writer as well as producer of the film along with Vimal K Lahoti, Bunty Raghav and Shraddha Chandavarkar. Shaandilyaa's previous project as writer was Jabariya Jodi (2019). Last year, he also made his debut as a director with Ayushmann Khurrana's Dream Girl, which also starred Bharuccha.

Before Janhit Mein Jaari, Omung Kumar had helmed a biopic of prime minister Narendra Modi titled PM Narendra Modi (2019).
