Renowned actor and theatre personality Vishwa Mohan Badola died of an age-related illness on 23 November. He was 86 years old. The veteran artiste was part of the Indian entertainment industry for more than 50 years and had appeared in several films, television serials and advertisements.
Badola appeared in films such as Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Swades (2004), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) and Jolly LLB 2 (2017). He was last seen in the Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Missing (2018). Badole was also a journalist by profession and had participated in more than 400 plays for All India Radio.
Badola's children — Varun Badola, Alka Kaushal and RJ Kalindi — followed in his footsteps, becoming actors in their own right.
Varun paid tribute to his father on Instagram. In a lengthy emotional post, he recalled how his father encouraged him to move outside his comfort zone and how he had to move to Mumbai from Delhi because his father cast a large shadow in that city.
Kaushal has played supporting roles in numerous Hindi television serials, mostly essaying the role of negative characters or 'vamps'.
