Barkha Sarkar, produced by Sumit Patil, to star Deepak Qazir and Aarna Sharma

Producer-director Sumit Patil’s next is Barkha Sarkar, a feature film produced by his banner Birdboy Entertainment, starring child artiste Aarna Sharma and veteran actor Deepak Qazir.

Aarna Sharma was seen in the Netflix web-series Typewriter with Palomi Ghosh, Jisshu Sengupta and Purab Kohli.

According to the makers, Barkha Sarkar is the story of an unbreakable bond of family love without boundaries, one that can conquer all. The film, directed by Abhishek Mamgain, is in the post-production phase and Patil plans to release it on an OTT (over-the-top) platform soon.

“As a producer, I wanted to make a film that everyone in the house could watch together,” Patil stated. “Currently every OTT platform is presenting [a] thriller, suspense [or] adult content. My motto was clear while making this film Barkha Sarkar, that I wanted to try a new subject for the film. And being a professional director, I was able to execute this film creatively as well.

“The story revolves around a nine-year-old girl Barkha Sarkar. This film is about the most important things in our lives: love, happiness and family.”

Patil previously wrote and directed the psychological thriller short Tat Tvam Asi (You Are That), which was screened at several film festivals and awarded Best Short Film 2017 by the Prabhat Chitra Society. He also directed India's first ever digital cooking reality show, India's Digital Chef, with chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
