Durgamati poster: Bhumi Pednekar-starrer undergoes a title change

The upcoming horror film Durgamati, starring Bhumi Pednekar, has undergone a title change ahead of its 11 December release on Amazon Prime.
It was earlier titled Durgavati and has presumably been changed so as not to offend anyone, like producer Akshay Kumar’s last film Laxmii (2020), which was earlier known as Laxmmi Bomb.
Durgamati is a remake of the Telugu film Bhaagamathie (2018) starring Anushka Shetty, and the original film’s director Ashok is helming the Hindi version as well. The Hindi remake also stars Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill and Karan Kapadia.
The new poster shows Pednekar seemingly trapped within a mirror on a wall by some supernatural forces. The actress looks bruised and her bindi is smudged as well.
