Kartik Aaryan announces his new film Dhamaka; shares motion poster

On his 30th birthday, actor Kartik Aaryan gave a special gift to fans by announcing a new thriller film titled Dhamaka and sharing a motion poster of the movie on Instagram with the caption, “Aaj mera birthday hai. Dhamaka hona chahiye.”

In the poster, a bearded Kartik Aaryan can be seen dressed up in a suit and sporting a pair of spectacles looking at an explosion on a bridge (which looks like the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai) from some high-rise building.

The film will be helmed by Ram Madhvani who is fresh from the success of the Disney+ Hotstar web-series Aarya (2020). Madhavani had also directed the well-received Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja (2016).

Dhamaka will mark Kartik Aaryan's first project with Madhvani. The film will go on the floor in December. The filmmakers aim to release the movie next year. In Dhamaka, the actor will be playing a journalist who covers a terror attack in Mumbai.

Dhamaka is backed by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films, along with Ram and Amita Madhvani.

Kartik Aaryan was last seen on the big screen in Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal (2020), where he shared screen space with Sara Ali Khan.

Apart from Dhamaka, Kartik Aaryan will also be seen next year in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2021) and Dostana 2 (2021).
