The teaser of Nayanthara’s Netrikann was released on Wednesday on the occasion of her 36th birthday. The film promises to be a tense thriller and it sees the actress play a visually challenged character who is in pursuit of a serial killer.
The teaser gives us a glimpse of Nayanthara's character squaring off with the serial killer, promising an edge-of-the-seat thriller.
Netrikann, which has been produced by Vignesh Shivn, has been directed by Milind Rau. The film is expected to hit the screens this December. The film features a labrador in a crucial role.
Tipped to be another woman-centric thriller, the film is believed to be an official remake of Korean thriller Blind (2011), which is about a blind woman who gives a testimony in a hit-and-run case and is forced to confront the killer on her own.
Apparently, Nayanthara plays a cadet at a police academy, who loses her eyesight after a car accident. The makers haven’t officially confirmed whether the film is a remake; however, the mention of Kross Pictures, a company that specializes in acquiring remake rights of Asian films, lends credence to the reports.
Apart from Netrikann, Nayanthara also has a project with her boyfriend Vignesh Shivn in the pipeline. This project will also star Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni.
There are also reports that Nayanthara will soon sign on for the sequel to her political thriller, Aramm (2017). While she played a district collector in the first part, she will be seen in an even more powerful role in the sequel.
Aramm 2 was supposed to go on the floors in September last year. However, due to Nayanthara’s multiple assignments, including her recent releases Airaa (2019), Viswasam (2019) and Mr Local, the shoot had to be postponed.
Check out the teaser and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
