After the tremendous success of Haami, the highest-grossing Bengali film of 2018, filmmakers Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy are coming up with a sequel to the film, which is likely to be released in 2021.
Featuring Broto Banerjee, Tiyasha Pal, Gargee Roy Chowdhury and Mukherjee himself, Haami highlights how the judgements of adults mar an innocent friendship shared by two children.
The film, which ran in packed movie houses for 60 consecutive days in West Bengal, also brought to the fore the issue of the growing incidents of molestation in schools.
Haami 2 will see Banerjee and Mukherjee reprising their roles and new faces as well. The directors are yet to reveal the theme and synopsis of the film. However, the poster features the caricature of a mask engaged in a kiss, which hinting that the film might deal with the dilemma of showing physical affection in the time of the COVID pandemic.
