Chhalaang song 'Deedar De': Rajkummar Rao tries to match Nushrat Bharucha in this foot-tapping dance number

Although the remake falls short of the original, the peppy track still manages to hook listeners with its catchy tune.

Recreating popular tracks, especially dance numbers, is the latest trend in Hindi cinema. From 'Dilbar' to 'Aankh Maarey' to 'Saaki', the list continues to grow. Now, Chhalang jumps on the bandwagon with MAD4it's recreation of Vishal-Shekhar's composition 'Deedar De', which was featured in Dus (2005).

While the original song was sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Asees Kaur and Dev Negi have lent their talents for the remake. Asees Kaur does justice to the iconic composition. Her voice suits such high-energy numbers. Negi also manages to leave a mark.

The dance steps of the film's lead couple, Nushrat Bharucha and Rajkummar Rao, which have been choreographed by Bosco-Caesar, are uninspired and unmemorable. Bharucha does most of the dancing and looks gorgeous but the choreography lets her down. Dancing has never been Rajkummar Rao's strong suit but he makes up for it with his expressions.

Directed by Hansal Mehta, Chhalaang is a love triangle involving three teachers played by Bharucha, Rajkummar Rao and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
