Deepika Padukone shared a throwback video with her Piku (2015) co-star Irrfan Khan remembering the fond memories they shared together. Coincidentally, the Shoojit Sircar film completed five years yesterday, 8 May. The actress shared a video from the sets wherein she and Khan are seen playing tennis. Along with the video, Deepika Padukone wrote, "Please come back!"
Irrfan Khan died on 29 April after being diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018. Piku is the only film where Padukone and Irrfan Khan worked together. To commemorate the film, the actress shared a beautiful candid picture from Piku’s sets. She also wrote lyrics of the song 'Lamhe Guzar Gaye' from Piku. She dedicated the song composed by Anupam Roy and post to Khan.
In the film, Padukone played the titular character whereas Khan played the role of Rana Chaudhary who drove Piku and her father Bhaskor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) to their ancestral home in Kolkata, all the way from Delhi. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the slice-of-life film won many awards and become a box office hit.
