A curse, a zombie army and an army squad oblivious to the horror they are about to unleash — the first trailer of the upcoming Netflix original series, Betaal, sets up the scene for a disaster waiting to happen. Viineet Kumar is Sirohi, an army officer who leads his squad to make way for a highway in the cursed Betaal mountain.
Sirohi has no idea what he is leading his team into as he discovers that the mountain holds a centuries-old British army officer backed by his army of zombie redcoats. The officer wants to recruit Sirohi and his team for his undead army.
Co-produced by the American production company Blumhouse and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Betaal seems to be both creepy and thrilling. The series seems to be set in the present but features a fictional world filled with lore and legend. As the key players descend more and more into the hell of the Betaal mountain, the show seems to indicate a point of no-return for Sirohi and his squad. Will they make it out alive? It doesn’t look likely.
The horror web-series has been written and directed by Patrick Graham, who earlier helmed the Radhika Apte-starrer Ghoul (2018), and Nikhil Mahajan. Joining Viineet Kumar on the show are Jitendra Joshi, Aahana Kumra and Suchitra Pillai. Watch the trailer below:
