Suvrat Joshi, who rose to fame with the television serial Dil Dosti Duniyadari, is making a comeback to television with another experimental serial. Currently, with the lockdown in effect, all shootings for serials have been suspended for an indefinite period. But veteran director and producer Shrirang Godbole has decided to make a serial that revolves around the concept of lockdown.
The serial will feature artistes like Joshi, his wife, and actress Sakhi Gokhale, Mangesh Kadam, Leena Bhagwat, and Anand Ingale. As the serial's plot revolves around the lockdown, all the artistes will shoot for their parts from their homes. This serial will mark Joshi's return to television after Dil Dosti Dobara, which was a spin-off on Dil Dosti Duniyadari.
After a successful stint in television, Joshi made his debut in Marathi films with Shikari (2018), followed by films like Party (2018), Dokyala Shot (2019). However, his latest release Mann Fakiraa (2020), a romantic drama also featuring Sayali Sanjeev and Anjali Patil, was pulled down from theatres when the Maharashtra government announced the lockdown. The actor is awaiting the release of his next film, Gosht Eka Paithanichi (2020). Joshi will once again be cast opposite Sanjeev in the movie.
