Actress Koel Mallick and producer Nispal Singh blessed with a baby boy

Actress Koel Mallick and producer Nispal Singh were blessed with a baby boy today morning. Amidst the gloom bought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent deaths of actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, this news has given fellow artistes a reason to smile.

Mallick and her husband have been flooded by congratulatory messages from colleagues and friends ever since the news broke. In fact, the actress shared the news of the baby's arrival on Twitter along with a picture.  

According to a report by the daily, Anandabazar Patrika, both mother and son are doing fine.

Mallick had announced her pregnancy on her marriage anniversary on 1 February this year. She had broken the news in a social media post, which reportedly went viral.

Despite her pregnancy, the actress was part of the promotional events of Soukarya Ghosal’s upcoming film, Rawkto Rawhoshyo (2020) two months ago. Recently, she was also seen playing a crucial role in Arindam Sil’s lockdown short, Jhhar Themey Jabey Akdin.

Though there were concerns about Mallick's delivery amidst the outbreak of COVID-19, she is reported to have gone through a safe delivery at a private nursing home in Park Street, Kolkata. The actress, who has been living with her in-laws for the last few months, will now move in with her parents for some time.
