Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma yesterday released a four-minute trailer of his upcoming Telugu film, titled Coronavirus. The film, which is based on the current COVID-19 pandemic, was shot entirely during the lockdown, keeping physical distancing in mind, the filmmaker said when he shared the trailer of the film on Twitter. The film is being called the world's first feature film on coronavirus, though Canadian filmmaker Mostafa Keshvari has already made a film called Corona on the pandemic.
We shot the CORONAVIRUS film in the LOCKDOWN period while strictly following guidelines and this I swear on ESHWAR,ALLAH, JESUS and the GOVERNMENT. https://t.co/fun1Ed36Sn

The four-minute trailer, with English subtitles, shows a family from Hyderabad, Telangana which is gripped by tension as one of its members starts displaying the symptoms of COVID-19. The head of the family, played by Shrikant Iyengar, tries to brush aside everyone's concerns, saying it is just a mere cough.
The trailer succeeds in holding your attention, especially because of its subject. The background score helps in creating an unsettling ambience. Family members can be seen maintaining a physical distance from each other even when they are sitting in the same room.
The film is directed by Agasthya Manju and produced by Varma and CM Productions.
